Meet the Founder

Vilma Seymour

Building pathways of opportunity where families learn, create, and rise together.

Vilma Seymour, Founder and Executive Director of Pa’lante Family Technology Center, has dedicated her life to opening doors for families too often left behind. Her vision for Pa’lante grew out of years of service as President of the Richmond Region League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), where she led bold initiatives to champion immigrant students, English learners, and families striving for equity and opportunity.

Out of that leadership experience, Vilma created Pa’lante as a nonprofit rooted in empowerment, resilience, and community. She saw firsthand how access to technology, education, and entrepreneurship could change the trajectory of a family’s future—and she was determined to bring those opportunities to South Richmond. Guided by her belief that every person has talent and potential worth cultivating, she built Pa’lante as a safe, inclusive space where literacy, digital skills, and creativity open pathways to self-sufficiency and pride.

Today, Pa’lante Family Technology Center stands as both a continuation of her legacy with LULAC and a bold step forward—an intergenerational hub where Latino families, BIPOC women, and immigrant entrepreneurs can learn, create, and thrive together.
